As Mark mentioned in the other post, the enclosure should sit about 1/4 to a 1/3 over the heating pad (not more than a 1/3). One note on using plastic shoe box or tuberware enclosures, make sure the lid is secure! Sand boas, as with most other snakes, are excellent escape artists.
