The little bit of white on her head is probably unshed skin...nothing to worry about. Has she been with a male? If not then she can still develop eggs but they won't be fertile. She will still need a nest box to lay so she doesn't become egg-bound. It should be more like 10-12" deep and you should keep the soil/sand,moist. By reptile bedding,you don't mean bark chips,do you? She needs to dig in something soft.She should be fine...make sure she gets plenty of calcium and D3.
