Temperment wise, jax are shyer and less aggressive. Does your jax spend most of his time hiding in foliage? It could be he's feeling stressed or too exposed to view, reluctant to give himself away by hunting, and ends up eating less. Try adding foliage or bushier plants in the cage and burying the feeder container so he can hunt out of plain view.
