It really depends! In my experience some females will do that whenever any other blackhead is in their space male or female and can be a dominance thing. While others it can be a good sign. How are all the other signs? Is he courting/interested or trying to get away? Any green colored spotting from the female? Have they been cycled? Any swelling or lumpiness to the female? Is she still feeding? How old and large are they?
