Not far from the truth

I'vee seen a show, years ago...I think it was the Okafango? swamp, in Africa where the doves would swoop down to the shallow edge of the pond, and bathe. The larger side-necked turtles would come up, grab them by the leg, and slowly back into deeper water, drowning them, then eating them. On a larger scale, not all of the explorers returned from the Galapagos Islands, right? Try budging a 400lb tortoise that has a grip on your ankle, while others come "racing" to the feast.

It's for good reason that U. of Md. has the slogan.."Fear the Turtle".
