And I know some people love pulling out a snake and putting it into a "feeding bin" and then pulling it back out and putting it back into the cage after feeding. Personally I think any sort of messing with them, just prior to attempting feeding is too disruptive especially if they're problem feeders at all. Try the quail and also try a sweater box set up if it's currently in more of a display type cage. Isolate it, don't mess with it, offer food once a week and hopefully it'll turn into a more consistent feeder for you.....or a feeder at all. I've never done the quail, but I recently jump started a "freebie" Dumerils with raw chicken legs. Now he takes rats, but the raw chicken legs got him going.
