Oddly enough, we can own anything here but American Alligators...got have permits for those. Certain "common sense" regulations on it though. Gotta have certain caging, locks on the cage, things ike that. Same laws apply to venomous. But honestly, I'd rather us be able to self-regulate, then have the govenrment come in and say we can't have anything. The state legislature tried to ban everything (including "poisonous" snakes...which is ok, because I don't own POISONOUS snakes) and NCARK stepped in and said, "wait a minute, how about instead of being stupid about it, we just set some realistic standards for people to meet".
