80% of a snakes growth depends on the combination of genetics and its individual metabolic rate. 20% is based on feeding regimine (ie, prey size, frequency, type) retics generally have quicker metabolisms than other larger boids (ie, rocks, burms), but, each snake (as humans are) are different. some snakes i have seen powerfed horribly and still slow grow, and i have seen retics fed prey items that barely leave a visible lump once every 4-6 weeks, and just sprout. you have to find the feeding regimine that works for your snake ----- retic is king of kings
