As I mentioned on my other post, my 3 outdoor EBTs came up over the last couple days since we finally had warm weather. This is a very old, worn-smooth female I have had for 6 years, another adult female i have had for six years, and a 6.5 year old male I raised from an egg. In any case, the "younger" of the two females was above ground, but still had not moved from her spot when an egg "appeared" behind her. This was not part of a normal nesting, obviously.

Any ideas "why". She did not nest normally last summer, laying an egg hear and there. The old female nested fine, so I am not sure why. The eggs from either female were not fertile......they were alone for many years and I think my male is just reaching maturity.

Should I even attempt to incubate this egg? We will probably have cold weather again, and the turtles will be back underground for a bit. Certianly they won't be feeding for another several weeks.
