Unfortunately the Everglades started dying with the construction of US 41 and then I-75. These two man-made levees have impeded the natural water flow which has allowed the pollution from the cattle and sugar farms to poison the Everglades.
The only way to fix her is to start over, not preserve what is already there. Two bridges, like the one on I-10 that spans the Atchafalaya swamp in Louisiana is what the Everglades needs. I'm not saying that buying more of the land that influences the river of grass wouldnt be a great idea, but letting the flow return to normal will flush a lot of the pollution out.

With that said, I would rather have a fiscal and constitutional conservative (Rubio) rather than Crist who appears to be the opposite. But either one would be better than the dems candidate Kendrick Meeks, who is the mortal enemy of the reptile nation. Thats just my political opinion and doesn't matter that much.
