That is not entirely true.... Many folks argue that the axolotls are actually a tiger salamander subspecies as the two can hybridize. This is how we got the albino axolotls - an albino female tiger salamander hybridized with an axolotl. Visit the following UK website for more info:

So, the albino axolotls are common... but does anyone reproduce, have or know of anyone who has any albino tiger salamanders?
