Congrats on your snakes dropping today. I am partial to the Thamnophis genus also. Had some sirtalis drop a couple years ago. 8 babies all in all, cute little guys. One of the coolest things about that was I actually witnessed the babies being born. It was the most fascinating thing I have ever witnessed in 15 years of keeping reptiles. Unfortunately I didnt have as much luck with my marcianus females . After the litters were born, I separated the females from the males to ensure they wouldnt breed unintentionally again. Both the males and females are doing good and thriving.
Quick question? Do you find that nightcrawlers are nutrionally succicient for gravid female Thamnophis or would you suggest another prey item and if so, what prey items would you recommend.

Getting to witness garters giving birth is a real treat and not often seen. Nightcrawlers are not very nutritious for garters. I personally feed all my garters f/t mice as nutritionally they are a great diet. Some people prefer varied diets but the rodents work well for me. Hope this helps.

Scott
