I especially liked this quote: Based on genetic testing, most of the Everglades pythons are believed to be descendants of 900 snakes released from a warehouse by Hurricane Andrew in 1992, Behnke says.
She doubts the tropical animals could spread too far north.
"I don't think they can survive Tallahassee," Behnke says
Even the Florida Wildlife people don't think the snakes can spread north, and yet this is still being considered for federal law...
