I found this skink: http://aishe.tumblr.com/post/576651063
In the back of the dorms at Cal Poly Pomona. I picked it up, snapped a few pictures, then released it where I caught it.

I tried looking up what kind of skink it was and was led to this site:

http://www.californiaherps.com/identification/lizardsid/plestiodon.id.html

But it doesn't resemble any of those listed that are native to so. cali.

Can anyone help?
