I use millet seed (recommended by Doug Dix) and that has worked out well for me. I order organic, food grade millet from Amazon $30 shipped for 25lbs and that will fill my 50 gal enclosure 3 times with about 3/4" depth. To clean it, I bought a sand sifter and poked alot of holes in it with a phillips=)

I did use reptisand in the past because the calcisand dye discolored my poor lizard. Unfortunately, when I tried the reptisand recently, it was so crazy dusty and I just couldn't bear that my little guys were breathing that junk in.

Biggest thing is to watch out for items with jagged edges that will cause impaction since that's a major concern (walnut shells, quarried sand etc). You'll find though that alot of people experiment with different things based on their set up and what they want to spend. You may have to play to find out what works for you.

Good luck!
Molly
