Your post was well said Crocpot and I agree with is on most parts. I've been interacting a bit with some of the folks addressing the Python problem and I do NOT believe all of them are our enemies and in fact believe their trying to mitigate a solution all can live with. I fully understand their concerns just as I understand our concerns. I believe shortly we'll have the info we want and need. If something isn't done to plug the leak in the oil rig we can all just dip our oil from the Gulf of Mexico soon and the oil shortage is over. If it continues one has to wonder how our wildlfe are going to fare long term. Most endemic Cyclura occur in the Bahama's. One has to wonder if this might not be the beginning of the end for those since very few are in captivity and NONE are being captive bred due to short sighted politics by folks here in particular the AZA....
