I would start out by contacting the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. They can give you a definitive answer. Ask them what the laws and or licensing requirements are for native and non native venomous.
If a permit is needed, I would be surprised if you can't get it. Provided that you are 18 and can demonstrate some knowledge in the care for a venomous reptile.

Licensing department:
dcnr.license@dcnr.alabama.gov
(334) 242-3829
-----
1.0 Albino American alligator, "Smoke"
1.1 American alligator,"Al Bite Ya & Molly"
1.1 Purple Albino Reticulated Pythons, "Gumbo & Abita"
0.1 Eastern Gaboon Viper, "Gabbie" Recently passed away at 24 years old
Help me find this snake!
