How To Clip Nails?

Anyone know how I can clip a box turtle's back nails? This is a very shy turtle that barely ever comes out when anyone is nearby. He is favoring his right hind foot so I'm afraid the nails are VERY overgrown on the left. Would a vet have a way of doing this?
