some mutations occur in the body(somatic) cells only these would be inherited....if the mutation is indeed in the gamete(germ) cells....then badda-bing the mutation is inherited.....this will be proven by the breeding...the mutation could be dominant.....recessive or co-dominant or anyone of the variety of genetic mechanisms being described...
