As for the Melanistics...
I never refer to them as het melanistic....I'd rather call them thayeri with melanistic parent or lineage.......

I do have a pair over here on loan produced by Brad Alexander that had one melanistic parent and both of them have a black belly.......They actually have alot of melanin on their dorsum too.....Wide, black borders and dark speckling......
I have two others (one from Jonel Lopez) over here too that have melanistic lineage and have black bellies.....
