My blue will be a year old soon and hasn't had any vision probelms. He's a super-aggro feeder. Maybe it is the lighting. I've heard Mercury Vapor bulbs can cause eye problems if they are too close or the animal is overexposed. Tegus being tegus tend to be buried most of the time, so I figure it probably isn't an issue, unless you don't have enough hides in the enclosure(s). I personally use MVBs in all of my cages and have never had any issues, but as I said, my animals hide for 18 hours a day.
