Posted by: megalon at Sat Jul 17 21:00:02 2010 [ Report Abuse ] [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by megalon ] what are you looking for in a turtle?if you would prefer an weaker swimming adult turtle, small enough that a pair can be easily maintained in a 55 gal,i would suggest pretty much any mud or musk(keeping in mind that they aren't exactly the friendliest turtles, usually fairly nippy);or if you can afford them,my personal favorites, spotted turtles.i can hold my adult pair of spotteds in one hand, and they are really inquisitive, smart turtles.mine freely take food from my fingers, and aren't at all shy.adult spotteds average 4 1/2-5" long, and muds/musks are a little smaller.
