I was at a local petshop (las Vegas nv) the other day, and a novice collector came in with some locally collected snakes trying to make a few bucks. Obviously the shop had no interest in anything, but I bought the sidewinders off of him. He said they would not eat anything he offered. Pretty much I have two major questions. I have a room in my house dedicated to snakes, all captive bred and healthy. I really don't want to bring them in my house until examined and treated. Since it's a local species is it fine to leave them in the garage with only a fluorescent light to minimize heat? Second question is about feeding. The guy I bought them from said they wouldn't eat any rodents offered. I've read that they eat lizards in the wild, but I don't have time to go catching wild lizards. Is there a suitable substitute I can use? The snakes are both about 12" and look thin. Any additional advice is appreciated. Thanks, Brandon.
