Keep it in the small container, just make sure there is fresh water available. I wouldn't bother with wild caught baby crickets, too much chance they have come into contact with insecticides.

I never heard of pelleted crested gecko food...but the powdered diet works great with babies. I never had any troubles feeding my babies with it. WHat is difficult is telling if they actually ate any or not.

For my babies what I used was a 'dry goods' storage container I picked up at a dollar store. It was about 14" tall, 3-4" wide and about 6" long (it sort of tapered, narrow at the bottom than the top, hence the range in the width). I used a fake group of leafy plant as climbing/hiding area, with a 'mat' of fake grass at the bottom and a layer of papertowel beneath this. Just papertowel will work fine, if you can't find the fake 'grass' mat I found. I drilled a few holes around the edges of the container for ventilation.

For water and food I used bottle caps. I worked out the liner, washed the caps, rinsed and put barely enough crested gecko diet into the cap to cover the bottom. The other one I filled with fresh clean water and placed both into the container before sundown.

As your baby just hatched, it probably won't eat for another 2-3 days, as they are full of yolk which takes a few days to completely digest. Just make sure they have plenty of fresh water and in a couple more days, offer some of the powdered diet. You can also offer small crickets, or phoenix worms. I just find the GCD is better and well balanced. That and its very easy to mix a tiny portion. As I had several babies I would mix a quarter teaspoon of the powdered diet and divy it up between 2-8 babies (I refrigerated left overs for up to a week, but once I had plenty of babies, I didn't have any left over...or if I did, it went to the adults).

Definitely do not house the babies with the adults, the adults will eat them.
