The distribution of the species is widespread in Washington. Unless you go out early in the morning during this time of year, chances are not good of encountering the species when it is hot and dry.

At this time of year, road crusing at night can provide reasonable chances for encountering the species at least in central and eastern parts of Washington. Not certain if searching at night is as good in western Washington but perhaps someone from that state might be able to chime in.
