Snake ID please

I live in S Florida and work for Miami-Dade County. These pictures are from a snake that another county inspector encountered in a rural area of the county. He said that the snake was at least 3 feet long. I know the pictures aren't very clear, but could anybody help ID it? I know it doesn't look like any native snake...actually it looks kind of like a black mamba...am I right (i hope not, we have enough trouble with the Everglades pythons)
