I have a female Coastal Rosy boa, that I believe is gravid. I came
home from work yesterday and there was some 'goo' in her cage (mucus
consistency). I assume it was some type of undeveloped embryo or
unfertilized egg material. I'm leaning towards undeveloped embryo
because I could make out what I believe were red veins in the 'goo'.
I kept peaking in on her to see if she passed anything else, or gave
birth, but she never did. She was doing a fair amount of slow
wriggling starting mid-body going towards the vent, which led me to
believe she was in labor. She did NOT shed prior to this event. She
is still very pregnant looking.
Has anyone ever seen anything like this? I am excited about my first
litter of babies, but I'm also concerned for my female's health.
Any and all input and responses are very appreciated.
