To me, any black flecking like that is mite phase. But the trait might have to be passed to offspring to verify it as a "phase" or "line". Dont know for sure. It is good that your snakes have a good appetite, but be careful not to overfeed. Chondros have a tendency to experiance rectal prolapse more easily than most other species. They will eat to their own detriment. They are almost always hungry, but dont always need to eat. One small meal a week or ten days is fine, with some of my adults being fed only twice a month.
