If you read my chapter on box tutle hactling care you know gravel is WRONG. Get them off rocks and put them on wet paper towels or moist spaghmum moss.

They don't "drop" their yolk sacs, they are absorbed into the body over the course of a few days. If the yolk sacs broke among the gravel, they are in danger of dying due to loss of nutrition and fluid volume.

Please read my chapter on hatchling care more carefully and follow the instuctions. Better yet, buy my box turtle care book where I have included pictures and more details of hatchling tanks. Good luck!
