NEW KERALA (India) 05 August 10 'Snake player' dies of Cobra bite Basirhat: A man, who had the bizarre hobby of playing with snakes, today died after being bitten by a Cobra. Saifuddin Gazi had made it a regular affair to play with snakes and to feed them with his hands since the past few years, but he had to lose his life to a snake bite of the Cobra variety from his aquarium. Gazi, a resident of Pinprekhali village under Sandeshkhali police station area in north 24 Parganas, had collected different kinds of poisonous snakes from various places and preserved them in a aquarium of his house. Gazi used to take out all his snakes from the aquarium and feed those according to their food habits. Incidentally, one of the snakes bit him when he was trying to feed it yesterday afternoon, police said. Gazi's family members said it was his practice to provide frog to that Cobra. Yesterday, it bit Saifuddin instead of catching the frog after which he became unconscious. He was taken to Sarbaria rural hospital where an abortive attempt was made to suck the venom entered in his body, police said, adding that later, the victim was transferred to the city hospital. Gazi breathed his last on way before reaching the hospital. 'Snake player' dies of Cobra bite
