Lot's of opinions and exceptions I am sure, but a lot of us try to provide 6' length cages or better. The 72" x 30" x 18" height cages have worked will for me. The long cage design allows animals to stretch and accomodates breeding behavior, and makes it easier to have some thermal gradient, i.e. a spot light or heater at one end, and relatively cooler at the opposite.

You can use smaller for juveniles, I use those sweater box types in a rack system for young'uns. Mine spend so much time in hide boxes, but it is fun to watch them cruise around in a spacious cage, i.e. feeding time or breeding, or rarely, basking.

good luck, Vic
