Observations on Marginated Torts

Marginated Tortoises seem to have very small eyes. I have to put my glasses on just to look one in the eye. The eyes are well camouflaged within those dark head markings.

They are rather shy and scurry off to cover when they see me coming.

They are good climbers and do frequently climb any available structure in order to get a better basking spot.

Mine seem to like a fair amount of heat (90F plus) for at least a few hours every day.
