This turtle was found in the road in Orange County Florida. It was found crossing the road in the city and picked up to take out to a safe place, being it was night it stayed in the house with us, however this showed us that it is quiet tame and comfortable with people and animals. We offered him or her food this morning and unlike a wild animal this tortoise at almost everything offered without hesitation. Also he is not scared of the dog and has explored the entire house, and chose to come back into the noisy living room to chill. He is not hiding. We thought gopher tortoise at first and were going to put him back in a protected place, however if he is not a pet we do not want to release him. He has white paint on his shell but that could have come from a car or the road since he was in the city.
Thanks

.
