Are those mixed locality? If so, it is prety common for such babies to show a good deal of variation. It seems like different babies get different traits taking dominance. In a lot of mixed populations, there is a lot of variation, some looking more like one type, or the other, instead of an even blending or mixing of the two looks.
If the parents are from the same locality, as far as you know, it is possible that the area that they came from is such a "melting pot" population, and your babies could be getting their looks from their grandparents.
