I tried two different methods of watching the length of the status updates. The counter that counts down to zero as you type is there as a guide, but once submitted I double check the length of the entry again.

The second method I tried today seems to work better. I don't know if perhaps you tried again while I was testing the first one?

Please try it again after you read this message, as by then we can sure the latest code is in use.

In my test environment everything works fine but if it still isn't working correctly when live on the Connect site I will have to test it somewhat differently through the site.
