http://www.bluebeastreptile.com/plantlist.htm

this is the reptile safe plant life i found. in my tank i used spider plant (zebra grass), dracaena godseffiana, dracaena sanderiana, and pony tail palm. all of which will outgrow my tank. i'll have to transplant them to a bigger house pot and pull off the younger growth for my tanks. make sure you research your plants first. you don't want a fast growing plant, or one that gets 100 feet tall (not sure why they included 'elm tree' on the list) all my plants are high or medium light. they only need to be watered when the dirt around them gets dry. for lighting you can use a plant light, a florescent bulb or low watt incandescent, if they don't get the needed 12 hours of sunlight a day.

the dirt is a plain top soil (no additives, perlite, or fertilizer) mixed with pea gravel and fine sand. maybe 1:1:1. i eyeballed it, so it may be a little less on the sand and gravel.

i have lots more pictures of the tank. if you have facebook, email me (click wccs2001 ^^) and i'll send you my link so you can see them.

good luck and post pictures when you're done.
