Might be a dumb question, but I do not want to take any chances. I have 2 Leopard torts in a large enclosure in our basement. The female is laying eggs for the first time. She is 7 years old and the male is 4. I have raised them in this enclosure since babies. I have tried lots of stuff as substrate and finally just gave up and left the bare plywood floor with no substrate. This has actually worked great for years now, no issuses at all. All I have EVER done is sweep it out and vacume. I have NEVER used a cleaner on the floor.

I feel like, after several years now, that I should clean the floor with something - like a mild bleach? My concern is that whatever I use will leave a residue that might be harmful to them. No matter how well I vacume and sweep there is still some dust because it is a plywood floor. This dust and the wood itself might absorb chemicals that I cannot get out - and becuase it is in my basement I cannot just hose it down for an hour (though I could rinse it down pretty well).

Anyone have recommendations or knowledge?

Thanks for your thoughts,

Ben
