Maybe he'll eat it that way. I found out that the reason my Uro hasn't come out as early was because it wasn't warm enough. I've raised the temperature of my Mali's quarters and where he sleeps in the morning to a higher temperature and now he comes out early in the morning a lot of the time and eat more food. I found out it wasn't hot enough because due to the weather when I took a closer look. Try putting another heat lamp on the cage or use a higher wattage bulbs or both in the morning and see what happened. What is the temperature in your Uro's cage where he bask and on the cool and warm side early in the morning when the lights come on?
