Even the bigger ones don't really like being held, they just tolerate it more I guess. Ringnecks can be maintained in captivity as long as you can offer them exactly what they want to eat. And you can get larger ones on mice, I had a 24" northern ringneck snake that could take down fuzzies. And a buddy of mine had some small regal ringnecks less than a foot long that would take down day old pinky mice scented with snake/lizard.
