John,

"Yep...certainly a Lacey Act and CITES violation"...After reading the book, The Lizard King, and doing some additional research - based on book information - it's an interesting study to learn just how far, the "conservationists" will go to implement a "movement" agenda...

Until the US other countries adopted CITES, there was no crime in what some of the "old timers" did...Importing foreign animals into the US...That all changed with CITES - a ratified treaty and in effect, implementation of foreign law upon US citizens - as once this international treaty became international law...It would soon become US law. CITES was the first step (as all of the "movement" legislation always is)...Step two was the modification of the Lacey Act...CITES provided the regulatory legal "framework" (as it would also be cited for the Endangered Species Act) for "movement" legislation domestically.

And look where we are now...Want to know why the Governor of Louisiana couldn't get "permission" from the federal government to construct sand bars off the coast of his own state? Do some research about the Ramsar Treaty (Wetlands)...Another example of a ratified treaty's impact upon the sovereignty of American citizens...

Thank heavens that we (the US) have NOT ratified Kyoto...Cap and Trade will destroy our economy...If you think the mortgage bubble and the bank bailouts were bad...Wait till the unregulated domestic and international speculators can manipulate the "carbon credit" commodities - right now, carbon credits are voluntary but Cap and Trade WILL make them MANDATORY by law...By definition, a commodity is an "agricultural or mining product exchanged on a market"...Well, EVERY product we use in our daily life is derived from a "commodity" (e.g. food, textiles, timber, oil, coal, gold, aluminum, etc)...And EVERY one of these commodities has a "carbon footprint" to be traded...

Wait till the speculators cause these "global markets" crash...There isn't enough money in the world to bail out these "global markets"...Which will mean they will just have to fail...

By the 1930's, German citizens were paying 450-650 MILLION marks for a loaf of bread...Workers were paid in duffle bags of worthless money...

Just my 10-cents worth...

Later,
Jim.
