I just added 2 female longtailed grass lizards to a terrarium containing a male, after cleaning out the tank and rearranging the landscape a bit. He almost immediately grabbed one of the females' tails repeatedly, but she always was able to extricate her tail from him and get away. Was he trying to "court" her or was this just a territorial fight? This continued for much of the first night, until the light went out. The next day, it was much more peaceful in the tank.
This is an ExoTerra 12x18x18 vertical tank with a nice branch and lots of vines in it, and a couple inches of loamy lizard litter for substrate.
