Mudsnakes are nearly impossible to keep in captivity, owing to their highly specialized diet. For most, that means 100% Amphiumas, which are aquatic salamanders similar to Sirens. Unless you can supply a steady diet of these, there's not much point in trying to keep a Mudsnake. I've heard of a few(VERY few)that had been conditioned to eat fish or frogs, but I've never seen one eat such a meal myself, and I'd imagine that this would be 1 in a million that does so. My advice would be to take this one down to water hole or swamp and release it unless you're able to obtain those "Conger Eels" on a regular basis.
