Weight can be misleading at times. Which is one reason I rarely buy herps online. I want to see the animal in person and be able to hold it. Maybe I am just old school in that respect.
There is a lot of difference between a 1400 gram BP than a 1400 gram Dum. An 4ft, 1400 gram '08 male Dum is still a sub-adult, a BP the same size is ready to breed. I do not recommend breeding any Dum under 4yrs old, not matter what size it is. Dums are slow to mature.
But that is just my opinion, based on my experiences. ----- Pat Higdon - Higdons Herps, Tuttle, Oklahoma USA Oklahoma City Herpetological Society Member 4 dumerils boas, 1 bci boa, 3 burmese pythons, 1 reticulated python, 2 ball pythons, 1 borneo python, 12 bearded dragons, 4 leopard geckos & 1 sulcata tortoise
