I would go by the temp at the site of the box. Temps can vary several degrees in your own yard. They make all kinds of gizmo's that are wireless,and can display the temps at a station hundreds of feet away. Try Radio Shack. (dont get the cheepies, they dont last) They record the high/low temps humidity and possabley have one with a warning buzzer.
