Yeah, 10 gallons is going to be pretty small for a leopard gecko. There are some smaller gecko species that would work though, and are equally cool. I like viper-tailed geckos myself. They're docile and interesting to watch; and you can handle them, although as with most reptiles excessive handling is not recommended. Anoles will probably work too, although in my experience they're actually harder to keep than the small gecko species.
