I took in an adult knight anole last night.

He is very skinny but is eating well (he has eaten a dozen crickets and a dubia roach since yesterday).
He has scabbing and crustiness around the vent, which looks to be healing. No smell, doesn't seem infected. I've applied polysporin and given him his first of of four 0.00025mL/gm Panacur doses.
He appears to be alert and moves around will in the exo-terra (18 x 18 x 24) that I have set up for him (paper towel bottom).

My main concern now is his eye. It appears to be infected and is covered with a thick layer of white goo. It moves over the orb when he is blinking or has his eye closed, but it has not come out of the eye so I assume it is anchored in there somehow.

I am starting a twice-daily-for-14-days Ciloxan ointment treatment of his eye but I am unsure what to do about the gunk. Should I try to remove it? I think I saw the eye, and it looks cloudy but intact. The other eye is clear and bright.

Any thoughts?
