That's what mine have been doing. It surprised me the first year because everything I'd read about the species (which admittedly wasn't much because there's not much out there) said about their really strong feeding response.

I contacted Dave Barker at VPI and he confirmed that theirs did the same thing... I assumed that mine were ready to breed because they were going off feed, but after further discussion with Dave I found out that my female is WAY smaller than when they start breeding theirs.

Mine are about 3 years old right now but because of these feeding strikes they're not as big as they should be, so I'm going to give them a year or so yet.

How large are your females when you begin breeding them?

On another note, it's funny that I'm getting this message right now. I just came down from misting everyone and my female gave me a nice show. She freaks out at the slightest thing sometimes...for example I can't hook her or she'll musk. Tonight she was in her hide box and I started misting. When she came out, her head and about 4" of her body was covered in real thick, tan musk... she's the only one of my snakes that will do that on a regular basis, but I think it's the fact that it smells eerily similar to peanut butter that really grosses me out...
