Cage Lighting

I have 4 4ft cages that i have just built and was looking for some info on how to light them, i have found a light at wal mart called a under cabinet light, 17 watts 75 watt light output, 24 inch long fluorescent. Would this work or would it be too bright? Thanks Clark
