As one of my female rats was leaving her nest today to get some water, I noticed she had something dragging behind her. At first I thought it was a pinky (she just dropped a litter yesterday). After closer inspection I think it is actually her vagina. It's about 2 inches long and skinnier than a day old pinky rat. As she was walking she was dragging her hips really close to the ground (as if she was trying to dislodge the pink thing). I attempted to try and remove it, but got bit in the process. I then grabbed some needle nose pliers and tried giving it a gentle tug, but it did not detach.

Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. If this is a health issue, I can feed her off and give her pinkies to another mother .

Thanks,
Anthony
