9-Foot Python Dropped Off at Winston-Salem Pawn Shop

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — Owners of a pawn shop on Old Walkertown Road have been trying to figure out what to do with a large python they've had for several months.

A man traded Mandy, a 9-foot-long burmese python, into the NC Pawn Shop in August because he was not allowed to move the snake into his new apartment. The owner traded Mandy in for some electronics.

"She's really tame. She could make a good pet, or someone could find a home for her, because she seems to be a really good snake," Don Heavener, store employee, said.

Store employees are even hoping that maybe a local science center would be interested in Mandy.
